En esta pequeña localidad de la provincia argentina de San Luis, visitaremos el museo y el taller dedicado a la artesanía del mármol ónix, donde veremos cómo se trabaja este preciado mineral. Las técnicas, todas manuales, se han transmitido de generación en generación durante siglos.
Desde La Toma, continuaremos la excursión por el Valle de Conlara. Al pie de este valle, uno de los más bellos de la provincia, se encuentra la Villa de Merlo. Allí exploraremos y visitaremos los barrios de Rincón y Rincón del Este, los mejores lugares para ver la Reserva Natural Provincial Mogote Bayo.
Después de conocer la historia de este legendario árbol, regresaremos al centro histórico de Villa de Merlo, donde tendrás una hora libre para almorzar. Después del almuerzo regresaremos a su hotel en Potrero de los Funes, donde llegaremos a las 16:30 horas.

Wolframite is a mineral that is formed at a temperature between 600-500°C. It is found in cavities of plutonic rocks or in seams. As for its chemistry, it is a mixture of iron and manganese wolframate, with a hardness of Mohs 5 (middle of the scale), opaque and almost shiny.
Although the mine was exploited locally for a long time, around 1930 the arrival of an English company in the area made possible the opening of roads to Cerro Áspero up to the locality of La Cruz, and incorporated the necessary technology to speed up the exploitation and extraction of the mineral.
Very close to the Villa, is located this site that was in the XVIII century the property of a ranch belonging to Don Tomás Fernández. The Piedra Blanca stream is the border with the neighboring province of Córdoba.
Special trails for horseback riding, through which you can enjoy the geography of Villa de Merlo at a much slower pace, experiencing the landscape and being able to make stops to admire the beauty of the place and take pictures.
