Let’s start by explaining what «porís» means: It means jetty or natural harbor. In Portuguese it is Proíz and has a similar meaning. In Catalan it is proís, and it means stone. In this case it is called Porís de Candelaria, the wharf that exists here.
From the parking point, we must continue down, this time walking along the path that will take us to the Porís de Candelaria. In just 5 minutes walking we will arrive to this impressive place. It is worth it!

Pigeon cave
Hiking tour through the Caldera de Taburiente from Los Llanos: Do you feel like exploring one of the most famous and magical places of La Palma? We will meet at 9:15 am at the bus station in Los Llanos de Aridane to start a 16 km hiking route through the Caldera de Taburiente.
Throughout the day, we will combine several routes on foot with others aboard a vehicle to get into the heart of the island and visit its emblematic National Park. It will be a very complete route!
First, we will go to the ravine of Las Angustias to see its streams, its steep walls covered with vegetation and enjoy its lush forests of Canary pine. The route will also take us to the viewpoint of Los Brecitos, at 1081 meters above sea level. On the way, we will pass by the so-called Finca del Cura. Do you know why it has this curious name? We will find out!
After resting, we will access the visitor center to explain in more detail the most curious facts about the formation of this natural space and the peculiarities of its flora and fauna. You will want to know more and more!
La palma al aire libre
Lugar y hora de salida: Salida desde el proís de Candelaria (Tijarafe). Ver mapa. Dejaremos el coche en el aparcamiento que hay al final de la carretera, y seguiremos bajando hacia el mar. El punto de encuentro es dentro del pueblo de Candelaria.
Observaciones: No garantizamos poder entrar en la cueva en todas las salidas. Depende del estado del mar en ese momento. Es imprescindible saber nadar, llevar protección solar y agua. Si tiene zapatos de agua, llévelos. Los objetos como la cámara de fotos, las gafas, etc. que el cliente desee llevar son responsabilidad suya por su pérdida o deterioro.
