Excursión a oxapampa y chontabamba
Oxapampa – pozuzo, an unforgettable experience
We start heading towards the province of Oxapampa and along the way we will visit the Mirador de Mesapata where we will have an incredible panoramic view of the Oxapampa Valley and Chontabamba. Arriving in Oxapampa we will make a brief City Tour in which we will visit the Austro-German Houses, the Main Square, the Santa Rosa Church where it is said that the devil is inside, then we will go to the restaurant where we will enjoy a typical lunch made by grill specialists. In the afternoon and with a 20 minute drive we will arrive at the dairy plant where we will participate in an Exhibition of Dairy Products and arrive at the District of Chontabamba where we will enter the Tunqui Cave where we can observe the formation of stalactites and stalagmites. To continue we will visit the distillery El Guarapo where the aguardiente and the traditional Huarapo are made, and the Plaza de Armas of Chontabamba. Return to La Merced.

In the very heart of Chontabamba, we admire its very attractive park surrounded by an educational center, the municipality and the parish church. This district was created on November 24, 1944 and its municipal building was inaugurated on October 21, 1945.
On our way back and 500 meters to the right of the Wharapo, we arrived at the fish farm, famous for the quality of its trout. We were positively impressed by the development and life cycle of these aquatic animals.
