Each stage of the Tour de San Luis has a special charm for supporters, cyclists and journalists, but the landscapes that surrounded the third day were distinguished from the others by a simple characteristic: everyone fell in love with it.
The members of the multicolored caravan left a few minutes after 13:00 from the city of La Punta, bordered the green charm of Las Chacras, contoured with the geography of Cruz de Piedra and advanced towards the mountain circuit.
When the legs were exhausted, when the rocks seemed to be the roof of an endless ascent, the Nogolí dam appeared as the destination of an oasis that began to be visualized in a fast and rigorous slope.
Nogolí offered the charm that it usually offers to every tourist who visits it. The cyclists who felt they had reached heaven after soaring up such a steep route probably confirmed their presumption when they passed in front of the imposing cross that marks the entrance to the Villa de la Quebrada.

This square usually hosts several events in the city, from shows, concerts to locreadas and popular pots. Also in the square there are usually artisans with various types of productions. Just in front of the square you can see the Cathedral which was built in the 19th century. A few blocks ahead we find the Convent of Santo Domingo, which is one of the oldest buildings in the city. It currently houses a carpet factory and a handicraft market.
Even if you don’t like the casino, you should at least walk around the casino block. It is a representation of some typical New York landmarks, such as the Statue of Liberty, the facades of the buildings (with the little stairs on the outside and everything), the facade of the fire department with the red fire hydrant, the street lamps and even a mid-century style cab.
